The Buck Ram Platters

World Class Entertainment

Darrell Scott

Darrell has played Porgy in productions of "Porgy & Bess," and has performed Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro," and Handel's "Messiah."  After taking a few years off to concentrate on his family life and personal goals, Darrell rejoined The Buck Ram Platters in 2004.  He is classically trained and studied voice at Winters School of Music in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Alcorn State University and has taught voice in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas.

When not on stage, he loves to cook and he makes a mean stuffed crab.

John Haynes

John played bass for The Buck Ram Platters for several years before stepping forward in 2003 as the group's bass singer.  John is the "ham" of the group with a comic style that is reminiscent of original bass singer Herb Reed.

John has played bass since he was ten years old but hid his voical talents until coaxed into stepping to the front line.  He landed two major recording contracts and has recorded and performed with James Ingram, Al Green and Rose Royce.  His calm temperament and warm smile keeps everything running smoothly between the venues and the group.

Phil Young

With that bald head he and John look like they could be brothers.  They're not but together they light up the stage.  Phil is energetic and has a terrific voice. He is the newest guy with The Buck Ram Platters but comes with a superb resume.

Ronee Martin

Ronee  has a natural ability to take a song and make it her own.  She has recorded with MoJazz/MoTown and is a songwriter as well as vocalist.  She has worked with Keith Crouch, Kenneth Crouch and Derrick Edmondson and partnered with other songwriter/musicians to build her catalog of original music.  And was worked with greats like Burt Bacharach and Carol Bayer Sages; Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.  Her passionate and sensouous voice blends well with The Buck Ram Platters on their evergreen standards like "Only You" and "Personality."
